A New Head Chef & a New Menu!!
Here at The Woolpack we are really happy to welcome our new Head Chef, Richard. Richard is very well known locally for his award winning soups, chowders & fish dishes. He has been preparing and making food of an exemplary standard for many years and has now brought his skills and talents to The Woolpack.
Richard has already made some significant changes to the main menu with dishes such as:
Starters:
Woolpack Smokies:
Natural smoked Haddock in a rich cheese, cream & white wine sauce, finished in the oven and topped with a poached egg.
Black Pudding:
Beautifully rich black pudding served with a dressed, sautéed walnut salad.
(V) Mushrooms in White Wine:
Baked in a white wine and herb crème and served on a freshly made crouton.
Mains:
Venison Casserole:
Tender venison, slowly cooked, in a rich Guinness & port casserole with fresh vegetables of the day.
Homemade Thai Crab Cakes:
Two homemade Thai crab cakes, served on leaves with a sweet chili dressing and new potatoes.
(V) Broccoli & Mushroom Bake:
Broccoli & whole mushrooms baked in a creamy stilton sauce and served in a giant vol-au-vent
Cajun Chicken:
A whole breast of chicken marinated in Cajun spices and cooked until just right. Served with tomatoes, mushrooms, chips & salad.
As well as the main menu Richard has a never ending supply of specials such as:
Whole Breaded Whitebait:
Lightly fried and served on a bed of leaves with homemade Tartar sauce.
Fillet of Sea Bass:
Pan-fried in butter with baby sweetcorn and peppers and served with a brandy cream sauce, new potatoes and vegetables of the day.
Tuna Steak:
Lightly grilled in garlic olive oil and served on a balsamic dressed salad with new potatoes.
Homemade Chocolate Cheesecake:
Freshly homemade chocolate cheesecake topped with Tia Maria cream.
